We proudly serve families nationwide, including New York, New Jersey, Connecticut, Florida, California, and beyond. Below are answers showing how our agency handles each request with ease and care.

General Questions

1. What is The Noble Nanny and what services do you offer?

We are a boutique nanny placement agency dedicated to matching families with thoroughly vetted professionals—whether you’re looking for full- or part-time nannies, newborn care specialists, special-needs caregivers, household managers, personal assistants, or elder-care companions.
Our agency tailors' placements to fit each household’s unique values, dynamics, schedule, and care philosophy. Whether your needs are long-term, temporary, or require last-minute backup, we provide a personalized and supportive experience designed around your family’s priorities.

2. Are the caregivers employed by your agency or directly by me?

All placements through The Noble Nanny are direct-hire—meaning the family employs the worker directly. We simply provide the match, ongoing support, and guidance (e.g., contracts, onboarding)—you choose who joins your home.

3. Where are your services available?

Serving primarily within the U.S., our services span New York, New Jersey, Connecticut, Florida, California, and surrounding areas. We also support families nationwide through virtual consultations where in-person share mobility or travel.

Fees and Payments

4. What types of fees should I expect?

Search / Application Fee: A non-refundable, one-time fee of $350 charged at the start of the hiring process. This fee covers client onboarding and the caregiver search.

Placement Fee: A fee charged upon successful hire of a caregiver. The placement fee is either a fixed amount or up to 15% of the nanny’s annual salary, with a minimum of $4,400. It is payable once your family selects a nanny and signs the offer agreement.

This fee includes a replacement guarantee period ranging from 30 to 365 days, depending on your selected package. If the placement ends within this period, we will match you with another caregiver at no additional cost.

5. Can I cancel once we’re in contract?

Yes—depending on your package and timing. If notice is given before the nanny’s start date, a partial refund may be possible (minus application and sourcing costs). After placement begins, most of our contracts convert to the replacement guarantee—but are non-refundable due to license commitments and time invested.

Placement Process

6. How do I begin the placement process?

Start by filling out our Family Application Form, outlining your household’s needs, responsibilities, and child profiles. Once received, we’ll schedule a short consultation call (about 30 minutes) to confirm your priorities and timelines.

7. What does screening include?

Every candidate undergoes a full screening before match, including:

National, state, and local criminal background check

DMV driving report (if nanny will transport children)

Validation of work authorization, degrees, certifications (e.g. CPR)

Detailed employment and reference checks

Formal agency interview to assess personality fit and child-philosophy alignment
This aligns with top industry standards outlined by APNA.

 8. How are matches made?

We combine your family’s profile with our vetted candidate pool—and match by:

Schedule compatibility

Developmental or special needs experience (if required)

Personality, communication style, and values

Practical items (language fluency, driving, pet care, etc.)
Candidate recommendations are carefully explained in detailed profiles for your review.

9. What should I expect during the match timeline?

We strive to present matches within 6–12 weeks after your consultation, depending on your specific criteria (e.g., weekend availability, language skills, or special-needs experience). For rare or highly specific roles, the timeline may extend slightly.

10. Can I interview the nannies before hiring?

Yes. You’ll receive candidate profiles and meet at least 2–3 finalists by video or in-person. We support interview preparation and post-meeting feedback. Many families (and nannies) also elect to schedule a paid trial shift (1–3 days) to ensure compatibility before signing the contract.

11. What happens once I hire?

We assist with contract drafting that outlines salary, benefits, work hours, duties, and termination terms—including legal nanny‑tax compliance. Many agencies partner with payroll vendors to simplify household employer obligations in the U.S.

We offer onboarding guidance and are available for check-ins during the initial weeks to help navigate adaptation or questions from either side.

13. Do you offer part-time, trial, or temporary care?

Absolutely. We serve a broad range of needs: date-night backup care, daytime hours, travel nannies, live-in, live-out, and temp/short-term contracts. Trial day and back-up coverage options are also available through select packages.

14. Can you accommodate part‑time, live‑in, or special‑needs roles?

Absolutely. We specialize in matching families with part‑time caregivers, live‑in arrangements, neurodiverse childcare, newborn specialists (NCS), elder care, and hybrid household manager/nanny roles—across all the states we serve.

15. What ongoing support will I get?

A dedicated placement coordinator is assigned throughout your tenure.

Check-ins are conducted at 30 days, 3 months, and before the guarantee period ends.

If any issues arise, we facilitate mediation or begin a new candidate search immediately.

 Compliance with Labor Laws

16. Do you assist with contracts or nanny‑tax guidance?

While we are not legal counsel, The Noble Nanny supplies families with best-practice contract templates and required wage notice forms—including compliance materials tailored to the New Jersey Domestic Workers’ Bill of Rights and applicable standards in New York City, Connecticut, Florida, and California. We also refer clients to trusted household payroll service providers that specialize in domestic staffing to help you manage federal and state-specific requirements—such as Social Security, Medicare, unemployment insurance, workers’ compensation, paid leave mandates, and accurate wage reporting—ensuring compliance and reducing administrative burdens.

Insurance and Benefits

17. What insurance or benefits should I offer my nanny or caregiver?

As the employer, your family decides what benefits to offer. While you’re not legally required to provide health insurance or paid time off, most families offer standard benefits—such as health insurance stipends, paid sick leave, paid vacation, overtime pay, mileage reimbursement, and professional development support—to attract and retain high-quality caregivers. These benefits are considered competitive norms and help foster long-term relationships with your hire.
